Youth Prevention Data
In Jackson County, a number of programs within schools and social service agencies focus on prevention first use of substances among our youth. Evidence has shown that comprehensive approaches to prevention that engage school personnel and youth, the communities in which our youth reside, and teaching them coping and refusal skills does delay use. Below, we highlight the work of two programs in Jackson County: Most Teens Don’t, a student-led social norming campaign and Family Services and Children’s Aid’s Breakout Program, an in-school prevention program.
